Accounts Receivable Officer

 Position Objective:               

This individual will be responsible for collecting loans and leases, along with the most challenging accounts receivable accounts. This individual will also be responsible for managing the accounts sent to legal, collection agencies, and those which file bankruptcy. Manages accounting activities in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and requirements including the preparation of financial reports and summaries to support the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Your direct line of responsibility is to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Accomplish the company’s growth and quality objectives;
  • Evaluates processes and workload to maximize efficiency;
  • Assisting the Accounts Receivable Supervisor in the tasks listed below:
  • Accounts enquiries
    • Invoice copies
    • Payment allocations
    • Statements
  • AR Collections
    • Reporting – FC & Branch Managers
    • Calls & Emails
    • Liaise with branch managers RE debt collection action
  • Processing branch Petty Cash
  • Manage travel advances
  • Manage support office petty cash
  • EFTPOS terminal maintenance ad basic support
  • Account Applications Process
  • Customer Contact information management
  • Over rides / Account limit maintenance
  • Invoice reversals
  • Cash & Credit subledgers
  • Payroll deductions / Staff Accounts
  • Refunds for customer accounts
  • General reception duties
    • Answering phones
    • Responding to front door
    • Welcoming guests to support office
    • Assisting support office with hospitality for guests and staff
  • Follow all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook;
  • Represent Vanderfield in a professional manner at all times;
  • Participate in any and all appropriate training.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers so as to present a professional image of Vanderfield;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the manager and assist other department personnel to ensure customer satisfaction. 

 Job Requirements:

  • A strong financial background is required;
  • Excellent customer and employee service skills;
  • Strong time management and organisational skills;
  • Strong oral communication skills; including telephone skills;
  • Commitment to doing things right the first time;
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and multi-task;
  • PC skills utilising Windows applications (especially Word and Excel);
